The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a Yellow Warning for isolated heavy thunderstorms, expected to affect parts of the island on Friday.
According to a warning issued at 04:21 local time, the alert will remain in effect from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.
The storms are forecast to impact various areas intermittently, with increased risk over mountainous regions, inland areas, and the north of the island. During storm events, hail is possible, and surface winds will vary in direction and may strengthen significantly.
Rainfall rates could exceed 35 millimetres per hour.
