The Department of Meteorology will issue a yellow warning for intense weather due to the arrival of low-pressure system ADEL, currently centred over southern Italy and moving northeast.
The warning takes effect from 23:00 Saturday until 17:00 Sunday.
Tonight (Friday)
Increased mid and high clouds. Light dust possible until Saturday. Winds: NE–SE 3–4 Bft, locally 4–5 Bft on northern, eastern and southern coasts. Sea: Calm to slight (west/south), slight to rough (north/east). Temperature drops to around 11°C inland, 14°C coasts, 8°C mountains.
Saturday Morning
High clouds, gradually partly cloudy. Isolated showers in the west, possible isolated thunderstorm northwest. Winds turn SW, strengthening to 4–5 Bft on leeward coasts by late afternoon. Sea: Generally slight to moderate. Highs: 26°C inland, 25°C coasts, 15°C mountains.
Sunday – Main impact day
Local rain and isolated thunderstorms expected. Hail possible in storms. Winds variable and gusty. Temperature drops slightly.
Monday
Partly cloudy with isolated showers, possible afternoon thunderstorm.
Tuesday
Mainly clear with passing clouds. Isolated mountain showers possible.
Temperatures from Sunday onward remain close to seasonal averages.
