A 55-year-old woman is in critical condition after being found unconscious in the sea off a Limassol beach on Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, the woman- who was visiting the area- was spotted floating unresponsive around 80 to 100 metres from the shore at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Lifeguards rushed to the scene and brought her back to the beach using a jet-ski-style rescue watercraft. She was immediately transferred by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where she is now intubated in the Intensive Care Unit.
Medical staff describe her condition as critical.
The Central Police Station of Limassol is investigating the incident.
