Woman caught driving at 10 times over legal alcohol limit in Paphos

Date:

A 32-year-old woman was caught driving in Kato Paphos in the early hours of Wednesday with a blood alcohol level ten times higher than the permitted limit.

According to a representative of the Police Headquarters Communication Branch, the 32-year-old driver was stopped at around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday in Kato Paphos. A breathalyser test showed an initial reading of 94mg, while the legal limit for her is 9mg. The final reading reached 101mg.

It is noted that the woman has not held a driving licence for more than three years, and as a result, the legal alcohol limit for her is just 9mg.

She was taken to the Police Station and is expected to be charged in writing and summoned at a later date to respond to the charges against her.
