When will the Troodos Observatory open its doors?

Date:

The management contract for the Troodos Observatory has been officially signed. According to an announcement by Cosmos Observatory, the project owner—the Community of Agridia, represented by community leader Andreas Evgeniou—signed the agreement with the consortium comprising the Troodos Development Company (ANET) and 1010 COSMOS Ltd.

The Troodos Observatory is expected to open its doors to the public in June 2025, offering a variety of activities such as guided tours and public visits, stargazing events using high-quality telescopes, educational workshops and presentations, as well as tourism packages that combine nature, culture, and astronomy.

“With this new management agreement, the observatory aims to strengthen scientific education and promote Cyprus as a leading destination for astro-tourism. This initiative represents a crucial step towards preserving the island’s starry skies and enhancing astronomical knowledge for both locals and visitors,” the statement adds.
