The Welfare Benefits Management Service (YDEP) has announced the payment dates for welfare benefits for August 2026, as well as details of increases introduced under new legislation.
YDEP said it has completed the necessary administrative and computerised procedures so that the increases will be paid automatically to existing beneficiaries. No new application or other action will be required.
For transparency, the increases will appear as separate payments from the regular monthly benefits.
The Minimum Guaranteed Income (EEE) will be paid on Friday, August 14, 2026, while the Care Allowance will be paid on Friday, August 28.
Separate payments for the increase in the disability allowance and the increase in the care allowance will also be made on August 28.
All amounts will be deposited directly into beneficiaries’ registered bank accounts. YDEP noted that the exact time the funds appear may vary depending on the bank.
Who is eligible for the increases
The increases apply to beneficiaries who, as of July 31, 2026, had a certified disability registered in the Minimum Guaranteed Income system.
The additional disability allowance payment is:
- €87 for people with disabilities aged up to 18, bringing the total basic allowance to €455.
- €37 for people with disabilities aged 18 to 65, as well as those over 65, bringing the total basic allowance to €405.
- Beneficiaries covered by Article 39(2) will receive a 10% increase on the amount they currently receive.
10% increase in home care allowance
For home care, beneficiaries will receive an additional amount equal to 10% of their approved allowance, based on the August basic payment.
The mobility allowance is also increasing, with the total monthly amount now reaching €100.
Beneficiaries currently receiving €30 will therefore receive an additional €70, those receiving €40 will receive an additional €60, and those receiving €50 will receive an additional €50.
Retroactive payments due later in 2026
YDEP said retroactive amounts resulting from the implementation of Laws 96(I)/2026 and 99(I)/2026, as well as a Cabinet decision dated July 2, 2026, will be paid during the last quarter of 2026.
The payments will be made once the necessary computerised and auditing procedures have been completed. Beneficiaries will be informed in advance of the exact payment date.
No new application required
YDEP stressed that beneficiaries do not need to submit a new application or contact the Service to receive the increases.
The payments will be processed automatically based on information already held in the Service’s information systems.
Beneficiaries are advised, however, to ensure that their bank account and contact details are up to date to avoid possible delays or problems with payments.
