Vitamin D supplements added in GenHealthcare System (GESY)

Vitamin D supplements have been included in the Pharmaceutical Products List of the General Healthcare System (GESY) as of 5 December, announced the Health Insurance Organisation.

The mentioned preparations are available exclusively from private pharmacies.

Reimbursement for these supplements is provided for the prevention of Vitamin D deficiency in patients with osteoporosis undergoing treatment for the condition, in patients receiving steroid therapy for diseases requiring at least six months of treatment with steroids at a dose equivalent to at least 7.5mg of prednisolone, and in patients with thalassaemia.

The supplements included in the list are Vitamin D3 (X-D3) 1000IU in tablet form and Vitamin D3 (NATURAL SIPS+VITAMIN D3) 5000IU in capsules.
