Violent car crash in Paphos leaves two injured

Date:

A violent car crash in Paphos occurred last night on Mesogi Avenue, when two vehicles collided under circumstances that are still under investigation. The force of the crash caused one of the vehicles to overturn and come to a stop more than 100 metres away from the point of impact.

According to Sigma correspondent Marios Ignatiou, two young individuals — a man and a woman — were injured in the collision. Both were occupants of the vehicles involved.

Ambulances arrived quickly at the scene and transported the injured to the Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital for treatment and further medical evaluation.

More than three fire service vehicles also responded to the scene, prepared to assist with any potential driver extrications and to remove debris from the roadway for safety reasons.

Judging by the severity of the crash — as shown in images obtained by PafosPress — it appears that both individuals were particularly fortunate to have survived.

Mesogi Avenue remained closed for several hours along a stretch of approximately one kilometre, as police carried out investigations and the road was cleared and made safe for traffic once again.
