Unstable weather conditions continue to affect Cyprus today due to weak low pressure, bringing increased cloud cover at intervals and isolated rainfall, mainly in northern areas, the mountains and possibly the east. Snow or sleet cannot be ruled out in the highest mountain areas, while temperatures will remain close to seasonal norms.
Today’s weather
Periods of locally increased cloud cover are expected throughout the day, producing isolated showers, especially in northern regions, mountainous areas and possibly the east, mainly during the afternoon.
In the highest peaks of Troodos and locally in higher mountainous areas, snow or sleet may occur. Winds will initially blow mainly northerly to north-easterly, light to moderate inland at 3–4 Beaufort and moderate to strong along the coasts at 4–5 Beaufort. By the afternoon, winds will turn north-westerly to north-easterly, generally light to moderate at 3–4 Beaufort.
The sea will be slight to rough, becoming locally slight in the west and south during the afternoon. Temperatures will rise to around 16°C inland, 18°C along the coasts and about 6°C in the higher mountains.
