The Graduation Ceremonies of the University of Cyprus are a prestigious tradition, marking a milestone in the academic journey of students.
Organising these events is a demanding endeavour, requiring continuous effort, meticulous planning, and collective teamwork to properly honour graduates and create a memorable experience for them, their families, friends, and loved ones.
For this year’s graduate celebration, University of Cyprus Spokesperson and Head of the Office of Planning and Implementation of Official Events, Ms Doxa Komodromou, who is responsible for the entire design and execution of the event each year, stated that the timely decision by the Senate to schedule the Graduation Ceremonies for the last week of June demonstrates the University’s commitment to honouring its graduates in the most impressive and dignified way possible.
Ms Komodromou remarked: “This is a high-level event that combines academic tradition with emotion, joy, and the formality of the moment, providing graduates with memories that will stay with them forever. The University of Cyprus is not just an educational institution; it is a community that nurtures knowledge, bonds, and lifelong values, always keeping its doors open to its graduates.”

A year-long planning process
The University Senate’s decision is made early in the year, as preparing the ceremonies requires extensive coordination and long-term planning by the Office of Planning and Implementation of Official Ceremonies, which manages and delivers numerous other events on a weekly basis.
The success of this grand-scale event, featuring five separate ceremonies, relies on the collaboration of multiple departments, the creativity, and dedication of all involved, ensuring that each graduate experiences an unforgettable moment.
A tradition of excellence
The University of Cyprus continues to lead the way, ensuring that each Graduation Ceremony surpasses expectations, creating moments of joy, pride, and emotion for all.
