Two police officers suspended over alleged assault and malicious damage allegations

Two police officers, aged 41 and 48, have been placed on suspension on the instructions of Chief of Police Themistos Arnaoutis, as separate investigations are being conducted into alleged offences committed in Larnaca on September 5, 2026.

According to a Police statement, both officers were placed on suspension following instructions from the Chief of Police.

Allegations against 41-year-old officer

The 41-year-old officer is being investigated in connection with alleged offences of assault causing actual bodily harm and malicious damage.

The offences are alleged to have been committed in Larnaca on September 5, 2026.

Separate assault case

Meanwhile, the 48-year-old officer is being investigated in connection with an alleged assault, also said to have taken place in Larnaca on September 5, 2026.

The investigations are ongoing.
