Two face trial over Larnaca torture case – six victims confirmed

Multiple serious charges filed

The accused face 16 common charges, including conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to commit a misdemeanour, illegal possession and transfer of a Category B firearm, violations of the Torture Convention, kidnapping or unlawful deprivation of liberty, acts causing grievous bodily harm, failure to prevent a felony, assaults causing actual bodily harm, joint attack, carrying a knife, possession of an offensive weapon, brandishing a weapon to cause fear, participation in a criminal organisation, and threats.

Additionally, the 48-year-old faces two separate charges related to falsifying documents and refusing to provide measurements from a legally detained person.

The offences took place during the summer of 2025 in Larnaca.

Six victims identified

Authorities report six victims: three Cypriots (one currently abroad), an Indian citizen abroad, an Arab resident in Cyprus, and a sixth victim believed to be a European citizen, whose identity is still being confirmed.

The Larnaca CID (TAE Larnaca) continues its investigation into the case.
