Two men, aged 30 and 37, have been arrested as police investigate a Limassol stabbing in which a 44-year-old man was injured shortly before midnight on Tuesday.
According to evidence under investigation, the 44-year-old was at his home when he was allegedly attacked by his 37-year-old flatmate and a second man, aged 30.
During the attack, the 37-year-old allegedly injured the victim with a knife.
44-year-old admitted to hospital
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Limassol General Hospital, where he was found to have lacerations to his head and cervical area, as well as an injury to his nose.
He was kept in hospital for further treatment.
Knives found during police checks
After evaluating information, police officers located the 30-year-old driving his vehicle in the Limassol area.
During a subsequent search, officers found a knife inside the vehicle. The man was arrested for the offence of carrying a knife.
The 37-year-old was located a short time later in the Limassol district. Police also found a knife in his possession, which was seized, and he was arrested.
Suspects expected in court
Both suspects were taken into custody as investigations into the Limassol stabbing continue.
They are expected to appear before court on Wednesday for police to request their remand.
