Observers recorded at least three Turkish passenger flights passing over Nicosia within about one hour on Monday evening.
The first flight, PGT7136 (PC7136) of Pegasus Airlines, departed from the illegitimate airport at 21:44 bound for Ankara. The Airbus A320-214, registration TC-DCM, flew over the northern Nicosia–Agios Vasileios–Mammari axis at around 10,300 feet and 248 knots, starting a sequence of unusual overflights.

Second flight follows closely
Just minutes later, at 21:47, a second Turkish passenger flight appeared. It also departed from the illegitimate airport and headed to a destination in Turkey, following almost the same route. The close timing of these two Turkish flights over Nicosia already raised concerns.
Third Pegasus flight at lower altitude
At 21:57, only ten minutes after the second overflight, Flightradar24 tracked a third aircraft: Pegasus flight PGT1859 (PC1859), an Airbus A320-251N with registration TC-NBV, on the ECN–COV (Mersin) route. The aircraft passed over Nicosia at about 6,600 feet and 235 knots, lower than the previous ones, with a visible path over the eastern axis of the capital.
These three successive appearances—all from the illegitimate airport, all within one hour, all over or very close to Nicosia—form a pattern of air traffic that observers rarely see. Although these are commercial flights, their temporal and spatial concentration prompts reasonable questions about route coordination or choices that brought the aircraft over the capital.
The Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish occupied side have not issued any official statements so far. However, analysts note that such clusters of flights over the island’s most sensitive area—even from commercial companies—receive close attention and evaluation, as they may indicate anything from mere coincidence to deliberate display of presence.
Monitoring continues in real time. Experts highlight that any new incidents overnight will serve as a key indicator of whether this represents an isolated event or a pattern requiring deeper analysis.
