Heavy traffic has been reported on the Nicosia-Limassol highway near Kornos after a vehicle caught fire on Thursday morning, sending thick smoke across the road.
Drivers are urged to remain cautious, reduce their speed, and keep a safe distance from other vehicles while passing through the affected area.
According to the Fire Service, the blaze broke out while the car was in motion. The EMAK rescue unit responded immediately and extinguished the fire. All three passengers managed to exit the vehicle safely and no injuries were reported.
The fire caused temporary congestion on the Nicosia-Limassol highway- a busy route- but traffic is gradually returning to normal.
