Authorities call for action

The Department of Road Transport has urged manufacturers, importers, distributors and sellers to immediately inform the authorities if affected vehicles are present in the Cypriot market.

They are also required to take all necessary steps to ensure that such vehicles are withdrawn or recalled in line with applicable legislation.

Advice to consumers

Consumers who own any of the listed vehicles are advised to contact the manufacturer or authorised dealer for instructions.

Authorities stressed that vehicle owners should verify details using their registration certificate to confirm model and production range.

In cases involving defective components, consumers are urged to stop using the parts immediately and return them to the point of purchase where possible.

If sellers or distributors fail to respond, consumers are advised to submit a written complaint to the Consumer Protection Service via its official website.
