The Tina Agapiou ELAM candidacy for the Nicosia district was officially announced ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections.
According to the statement, Ms Tina Agapiou accepted the proposal of ELAM president Christos Christou to join the party’s ballot. The announcement cited alignment on principles, political outlooks and ideological positions as the foundation for her collaboration with ELAM, highlighting national values, cultural identity and the goal of a modern state governed by the rule of law.
Ms Agapiou, a lawyer by profession, holds degrees in Law and Business Administration from UK universities and two postgraduate degrees in Business Administration and International Relations. She specialises in corporate, family, civil and European law, and works as a senior advisor on anti-money laundering issues. She is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, the Nicosia Bar Association and the International Federation of Women Lawyers.
She has been involved in politics since her student years and has been an ELAM member since 2017, currently serving on the Central Committee and the President’s Council. Earlier in life, she was also a national judo champion and member of the Cyprus women’s national judo team.
In her personal statement, Ms Agapiou described ELAM as her “political home” and said her priorities include tackling illegal immigration, corruption, economic hardship faced by families, and domestic violence, as well as promoting equality and opportunities for the younger generation. She emphasised her commitment to “a free, strong and fair Cyprus.”
