Sunshine, fog and possible storms on Monday
A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region, bringing a mix of weather conditions across Cyprus.
According to the Department of Meteorology, Monday will be mostly clear, although low cloud and patchy mist are expected early in the day in inland areas and along the coast.
Later in the afternoon, cloud development over the mountains could lead to isolated showers or thunderstorms. Hail is also possible in areas affected by thunderstorms.
Southwesterly to northwesterly winds will be light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort, while the sea will be slight to a little rough.
Temperatures climb to 35°C inland
Under the latest Cyprus weather forecast, temperatures are expected to reach 35°C inland, 28°C on the west coast, around 30°C along the remaining coastal areas and 26°C in the higher mountains.
Despite the possibility of localised storms, temperatures will remain slightly above seasonal averages.
Fog expected overnight
Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear, although low cloud and patchy mist or fog are expected to form gradually in inland and coastal areas.
Winds will become variable and light, at 2 to 3 Beaufort, while the sea will be calm to slight.
Temperatures will fall to around 20°C inland and along the coast, and to 17°C in the higher mountainous regions.
Showers and thunderstorms possible through Thursday
The Cyprus weather forecast indicates that afternoon cloud build-up on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday may trigger isolated showers or thunderstorms, mainly over mountainous areas and possibly parts of the interior.
Temperatures are not expected to change significantly during the coming days and will remain slightly above the average climatic values for the season.
