Third arrest over Limassol betting shop fire

44-year-old arrested under warrant

A third person has been arrested in connection with a betting shop fire in Limassol as police continue investigating allegations of arson and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested yesterday under a court warrant to facilitate investigations into the case.

Fire broke out in early hours

The offences under investigation relate to an incident that occurred in Limassol on 1 June 2026.

According to police, the betting shop fire broke out at around 2:50am at premises owned by a 40-year-old man.

Two other suspects already in custody

As part of the investigation, police had already arrested two other individuals in recent days.

Both suspects are currently being held under eight-day detention orders while inquiries continue.

Investigations ongoing

The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is continuing its examinations into the case.
