Theatrical reading commemorates 50 Years since the coup and Turkish invasion

Date:

In remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the 1974 coup and Turkish invasion, a special theatrical reading of “Half a Century of Jasmine” by Nikola Katsaris will be presented on Wednesday, 20 November 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the CyBC Archive Hall. This award-winning work, which took first place in the 2023 Cypriot Short Story Writing Competition, reflects the resilience and shared history of the Cypriot people.

Directed by Kristiana Georgiou and curated by Maria Charalambous, the evening will bring this powerful story to life, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with a piece that deeply resonates with Cyprus’s past and collective memory.

Those wishing to attend are invited to RSVP by Friday, 15 November 2024, by emailing [email protected] with names and the number of attendees. This event is part of a broader series of initiatives to honour Cyprus’s history and promote reflection on its cultural heritage.
