A mass of hot and dry air is currently affecting the region, according to the Cyprus Department of Meteorology.
Today, temperatures are expected to rise to 37°C inland, 28°C on the west coast, around 31°C on the remaining coasts, and 26°C in the higher mountain areas.
The forecast calls for mostly clear skies throughout the day. Winds will generally blow from the southwest to northwest, initially light and later moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Tonight will also remain mostly clear, with variable light winds around 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 20°C inland and along the coast, and to 16°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead to Friday and Saturday, the weather will continue to be mostly clear. On Sunday, conditions will remain generally fair, although increased local cloud cover is expected around midday and early afternoon, particularly over mountainous areas, where isolated showers cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures will climb slightly through Saturday, remaining well above average for the season. No significant changes are expected on Sunday.
