The Cyprus weather forecast calls for warm and mostly sunny conditions today, with temperatures rising to 36°C inland, 31°C on the west coast, around 33°C on the remaining coasts, and 30°C in the higher mountains, according to the Department of Meteorology.
This afternoon, skies will remain largely clear, though the west and north may see intervals of increased cloud cover. Winds will blow mainly from the southwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, locally strong at 5 to 6 Beaufort in exposed areas. Seas will be slight to rough.
Tonight, some areas will see periods of increased cloud cover, with thin or patchy fog possible later. Winds will remain south-westerly, light at 3 Beaufort, while seas will become slight. Temperatures will drop to around 24°C inland and on the coasts, and 19°C in the higher mountains.
Looking ahead, Saturday will be mainly clear with occasional clouds. On Sunday and Monday, skies will again be mostly sunny, but isolated showers may develop in the mountains during the afternoon. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly through Monday, remaining close to average climatic values for the season.
