Storm damage claims deadline set for October 9

Date:

The Interior Ministry has reminded residents who reported property damage from the August 29 extreme weather that they must submit their completed affected-person declaration by October 9, 2026.

Who needs to submit a declaration

The procedure applies to residents who reported damage to their property to the relevant District Administration by the September 7 deadline.

The affected-person declarations were provided to residents by the District Administrations as part of the damage assessment process.

Applicants must complete and sign the declaration and submit it, together with any required supporting documents, to the relevant District Administration by October 9 at the latest.

Declarations can be submitted in person or sent electronically.

Deadline does not cover new damage reports

The Interior Ministry clarified that the October 9 deadline applies only to the submission of declarations for damage that was already reported to the District Administrations within the initial deadline.

It does not allow residents to submit new reports of damage after September 7.

Financial assistance is not automatic

Failure to submit the affected-person declaration by the deadline will mean that the request will not be forwarded for consideration for discretionary financial assistance.

The ministry stressed that the assistance is discretionary financial support rather than compensation. Submitting a declaration does not automatically mean that the application will be approved.

Electronic submissions

Completed declarations can also be sent to the relevant District Administration by email.

The ministry provided the following electronic addresses for submissions:
