About the CareDivide project:
The CareDivide Project, funded by the EU under the CERV Lump Sum Grants, promotes work-life balance solutions and the implementation of gender-equal workplace policies. It aligns with the EU’s Work-Life Balance Directive (2019), which aims to improve flexible working arrangements and carers’ leave. The project focuses on addressing the gender imbalance caused by the disproportionate caregiving responsibilities borne by women, which often limits their participation in the workforce and their career growth. This imbalance not only affects gender equality but also impacts businesses and the broader economy.
The CareDivide Project is implemented in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain, with key partners including the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Centre for Social Innovation (CSI).
Why does long-term care matter for businesses?
In today’s competitive business environment, organizations must recognize the significant impact of caregiving responsibilities on their employees. The CareDivide Project equips businesses with the tools and strategies necessary to support employees with caregiving responsibilities, which can lead to increased productivity, improved talent retention, and the creation of a more inclusive and balanced work environment. By fostering collaboration between businesses, policymakers, and social organizations, the CareDivide Project aims to build a more resilient and balanced labour market.
