Today, Friday, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, travels from Athens to Thessaloniki to unveil the restored bust of the hero Kyriakos Matsis at Aristotle University.

In the afternoon, he will visit the Society for Macedonian Studies (EMS), where he will speak at an EMS event held in memory of the victims of the Cypriot tragedy, marking 50 years since the Turkish invasion. Following this, President Christodoulides will open the conference entitled “Cyprus and Romiosyne,” organised by the Metropolis of Kalamaria, the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi, and the Region of Central Macedonia. This conference will be held at the University.

Tomorrow, the President of the Republic will return to Athens, where he will attend an event at the Cultural and Conference Centre of the Municipality of Elliniko – Argyroupoli, “Mikis Theodorakis.” Here, he will inaugurate an event organised by the Municipality and the Argyroupoli Pontian Association, titled “Ambassadors of Pontic Hellenism.” During the event, the President will be named Ambassador of Pontic Hellenism for 2024.

Yesterday, the President had a meeting at the Maximos Mansion, where he briefed Prime Minister Mitsotakis on his recent meeting with President Biden at the White House.
