President calls for public feedback

Date:

President Nikos Christodoulides has encouraged citizens to visit the government platform diakivernisi.gov.cy to stay informed and assess whether the government’s actions match its commitments, stressing that criticism is welcome.

In a video posted on social media, the President said that in every modern state, citizens have the right to be informed about government policies, particularly those that affect their daily lives.

Recognising this right, and as part of the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability, he noted that an annual presentation of the government’s policy programme is held at the beginning of each year. According to the President, this initiative allows citizens to monitor, evaluate and judge the government’s performance on a daily basis.

He added that the same philosophy led to the creation of the diakivernisi.gov.cy platform, through which citizens, media organisations and interested groups can track the implementation of government policies in real time, alongside other important information relating to government actions.

The President called on the public to use the platform, assess the consistency between promises and actions, and contribute through comments and constructive criticism.

“Criticism is welcome,” he said, adding that public feedback can help the government become more efficient and effective in serving citizens and society.

Concluding his message, Christodoulides stated that transparency and accountability are not merely slogans but a fundamental responsibility toward the public and an essential act of governance.
