A power cut affecting the road leading to the community of Tseri is expected to be resolved within the hour, following damage to a medium-voltage underground cable, the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) has confirmed.
Speaking to CNA, EAC spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou explained that the issue arose during deep excavation works at a nearby construction site. The excavation led to the severing of an underground cable carrying 11,000 volts.
Papadopoulou noted that the EAC had not been informed of the precise location of the underground cable, which significantly delayed the repair process. “Unfortunately, we were not notified about the exact position of the cable that was cut, and this has required additional time to locate the fault,” she said.
