On Wednesday, police continued their investigations into the circumstances surrounding a fatal car collision that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, resulting in the deaths of three young people from Frenaros.
Speaking to CNA, Andreas Constantinou, spokesperson for the Famagusta Police Department, said, “Today, further examinations were conducted at the accident scene by members of the Traffic Department of Police Headquarters and Famagusta Traffic Police. On Monday night, members of Famagusta Traffic Police, in collaboration with the Traffic Department of Police Headquarters, carried out a reconstruction of the accident scene in an effort to clarify the speed at which the two vehicles were travelling.”
The investigators, he added, “continue to collect statements; however, the two injured individuals have not been able to provide testimony due to their medical condition.”
Regarding the condition of the injured individuals, Mr Constantinou stated, “The 18-year-old is hospitalised at the Famagusta General Hospital in a stable and non-critical condition. The health of the 22-year-old, who is hospitalised at Nicosia General Hospital, remains serious but stable.”
The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Famagusta Traffic Police.
