Another incident involving airbags has been making rounds on social media in recent hours. A Facebook user shared photos and a harrowing account of their experience while driving.

According to the post, the user shared their story publicly to raise awareness that the issue is not limited to TAKATA airbags but also affects other brands.

“Hard plastic fragments were on the floor in the back… I didn’t hit anything, no one hit me…

I couldn’t understand why…???? Twenty minutes earlier, I had dropped off my grandchildren at home after their activities!!! My thoughts immediately were on the children… What if they had been in the car? And what if I had been on the highway going 100km/h???

I’d probably… be dead… And the police would have said… he ‘lost control of the car’…!!!

The car is fully insured, but the insurance company would probably find a… loophole!!!!” the post stated, among other comments.

Legislation vote likely to be postponed

Meanwhile, DISY MP Kyriakos Hadjiyiannis announced the likelihood of a postponement of the vote on legislation to address airbag safety issues.

“It saddens me to inform you of the intention to postpone the vote on legislation to manage the public safety risk posed by airbags. I warn that passing the law could prevent the next death, while delaying it makes us legally responsible for any new fatalities. I distance myself and strongly disagree with any postponement. The law is ready for approval, and I deeply thank all those who collaborated, as well as the Minister of Transport, who ultimately recognised the gravity of the risk and showed great interest. I also thank the chairman and members of the Transport Committee.

At the same time, I declare my readiness to take the initiative to resolve any issues that may arise in the future,” the MP wrote in a post on platform X.
