“More Recalls for TAKATA Airbags to Come”

Date:

Recalls for TAKATA airbags are ongoing, and additional batches will be recalled in the future, said Alexis Anninos, President of the Vehicle Importers Association, during an interview with Mesimeri kai Kati.

“The recalls are ongoing and will continue. There will be more recalls for TAKATA airbags,” he said at the outset.

Regarding whether all members of the Association have taken the necessary responsibilities, Mr. Anninos stated, “Indeed, we acknowledge delays and shortages in the supply of replacement parts. This issue exists everywhere, not just in Cyprus. The most important thing is to ensure that vehicle owners are informed about the recall.”

Continuing, Mr. Anninos explained that the airbags are not shipped by air but by sea. “Dealerships notify owners and schedule appointments once the components are available. Owners are being informed,” Mr. Anninos emphasized.
