Parts of Nicosia without power after winds bring down branches

Date:

Several areas of the capital are experiencing electricity outages this afternoon (Friday 5 December) due to strong winds.

Tree branches fell onto low-voltage lines of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), causing faults in Aglantzia, Lakatamia and Palouriotissa.

EAC repair crews are on site working to restore supply as quickly as possible.

Motorists and residents are advised to treat any fallen cables as live and keep clear.
