A fatal road accident occurred Saturday morning in Paphos, claiming the life of 32-year-old Stylianos Genis from Geroskipou.
Police report that around 8:50am, the 32-year-old drove on a dirt road in a rural area of Pentalia village when, under investigated conditions, he lost control. The vehicle plunged into a ravine, causing fatal injuries.
The deceased had gone to the area with a 35-year-old friend to train their hunting dogs. The friend and dogs had disembarked earlier.
Fire Service members recovered the body, which was taken to Paphos General Hospital mortuary. The scene remains cordoned off for Paphos Traffic Police examination.
Funeral arrangements on Tuesday
The funeral for 31-year-old Stylianos Genis takes place Tuesday at Agios Spiridonas Church in Geroskipou at 11:30am.
The family requests donations to the church instead of wreaths and will not receive condolences. Geroskipou Municipality covers expenses.
In its announcement, Geroskipou Municipality described the beloved Stelios as distinguished by his gentle character and integrity, a model employee and excellent colleague. He leaves at just 31, spreading grief among all.
