Over 120kg of drugs delivered in parcel – 31-year-old arrested in Larnaca

More than 105kg of cannabis and 16.5kg of cocaine were seized by police in Larnaca after being delivered in packages addressed to a 31-year-old man.

According to the Police Communication Branch, officers intercepted five packages containing the drugs and arrested the man for investigation into drug trafficking offences.

The incident occurred when employees of a courier company attempted to deliver five parcels to a specific address in Larnaca. A man, aged 31, arrived at the scene in a car and presented himself as the recipient.

Police, including officers from the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), were already monitoring the situation and conducted a search of the packages.

Inside, they found 96 packets of cannabis, with a total gross weight of 105kg and 65g, and 15 packets of cocaine, weighing 16kg and 52g in total.

All substances were seized, and the suspect was taken into custody. He is under investigation for illegal importation, possession, and intent to distribute.

The case is being investigated by the Larnaca District Unit of YKAN.
