Nicosia road crash leaves 9-year-old critical

A 9-year-old boy is in critical condition following a Nicosia road crash that occurred on Agiou Andreou Avenue in the Pallouriotissa area on Tuesday evening.

The collision happened at around 9pm, when, under circumstances still under investigation, a car driven by a 19-year-old woman struck the bicycle the child was riding as he attempted to cross the road.

The injured boy was initially transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital before being transferred to Makarios Hospital. Doctors there confirmed that he is suffering from bleeding to the head, with his condition described as critical.

Nicosia Traffic Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances of the crash.
