Nicosia: Police raid illegal horse race betting at private residence

Police conducted a search of a 57-year-old man’s residence in a village in Nicosia as part of an investigation into illegal horse race betting.

According to a police statement, the search led to the seizure of various pieces of evidence believed to be linked to the acceptance of illegal horse race bets over the phone.

During the raid, eight individuals (including the 57-year-old homeowner) were found at the residence. All were taken to the police station for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
