Mobility Week 2025 – Nicosia invites public to join

Date:

The Municipality of Nicosia is inviting associations, organisations, schools, individuals, street food vendors, musicians, DJs, radio stations and other interested parties to submit proposals for events and initiatives as part of European Mobility Week 2025, to be held from 16 to 22 September. This year’s theme is “Mobility for all”, promoting equal and safe access to environmentally friendly transport options.

Proposed activities can take place in public spaces across the municipality, including squares, parks and roads within Nicosia. The Municipality aims to foster community participation in promoting sustainable and inclusive urban mobility.

This year’s slogan focuses on the right of every individual to safe, sustainable and accessible transport, encouraging a shift to greener and more inclusive modes of mobility.

European Mobility Week is an annual campaign of the European Commission that has been running since 2002. It is the most important European initiative to promote sustainable urban mobility, encouraging citizens to adopt alternative forms of transportation, such as walking, cycling, and public transport.

The goal is to raise awareness among local communities across Europe and promote actions that strengthen environmental awareness and the use of alternative transport methods in cities.

Those interested in participating must submit their proposals by Tuesday 26 August 2025 at 13:00, via email to [email protected].

For more information, individuals may contact the Municipality of Nicosia at 22797693, 22797691, or 22797696.
