New investigation ordered
The Deputy Prosecutor of First Instance has commissioned a supplementary investigation into a transport company that allegedly stored debris from the Tempi train disaster in Koulouri before being registered as a private company a month later.
Individuals called for questioning
Seventeen individuals – including private citizens, public officials, and elected representatives of the Thessaly Region – have been summoned to provide sworn testimony. They were responsible for managing the transport of the debris.
Trial on missing videos
The trial concerning the missing videos from the commercial train involved in the Tempi disaster will resume on 19 March at the Larissa Single-Member Misdemeanour Court. The session was previously adjourned due to the presiding judge’s illness.
During the interrupted session, the court heard from the judicial expert in response to questions from both prosecution and defence lawyers. The appointment of a specialist witness to assess digital evidence from devices seized by investigators was not addressed due to the unexpected adjournment.
Prosecution lawyers have requested access to copies of the digital data to support the case.
