President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides will chair a National Council meeting on Monday, where he will brief members on the latest Cyprus talks update following recent visits by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the EU’s newly appointed Special Representative for the Cyprus issue, Raffaele Fitto.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:30.
Preparations continue for wider conference
Christodoulides said on Saturday that technical-level preparations have already begun with the United Nations to create the conditions for a successful expanded conference on the Cyprus issue.
He noted that this preparatory work will continue throughout August.
The President’s briefing comes after Guterres and Fitto visited Cyprus last week as part of efforts related to the future of the Cyprus settlement process.
