Medal haul for Cyprus in swimming at Malta Invitational Games

Date:

Cypriot swimmers leave Malta with 50 medals and invaluable experiences, having represented Cyprus at the “Malta Invitational Games 2024.”

According to a statement from the Cyprus Olympic Committee (COC), the young athletes seized the opportunity provided by the COC to compete against swimmers from other countries, gaining insight into their competitive level.

For many of the athletes in swimming and the other three sports on the programme (badminton, taekwondo, water polo), this was their first international mission and will “certainly remain a milestone in their careers.”

In terms of competition, Cyprus secured victories in almost all events they entered. Notably, there were no preliminary heats in any category, so each heat had three medallists. Some heats were fully packed with eight athletes, while others had fewer participants.
