Authorities were alerted following a complaint that a man approached a five-year-old child at a beach in Larnaca on Monday, August 18.
According to the complaint made to authorities, the man allegedly picked up and hugged the five-year-old while the child was lying on a sun lounger, without the mother’s consent.
The incident was reportedly noticed by the child’s mother, who confronted the man and subsequently reported the matter to police.
Man gives statement to police
The man later went to a police station and gave a statement in connection with the complaint.
He was not arrested.
Police investigations into the Larnaca beach incident are continuing.
