Man arrested in limassol for stealing tools and watches from vehicle

Date:

Police in Limassol have arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the theft of tools and watches from a vehicle.

Members of the Limassol Crime Prevention Unit (OPE) went to an abandoned house yesterday following information about a suspicious person in the area.

During the check, officers stopped a 40-year-old man and found him in possession of two tool cases and a shoulder bag. He failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their lawful ownership.

The suspect was arrested for the offence of unlawful possession of property.

Subsequent investigations confirmed that the tool cases and their contents, including tools and wristwatches, had been reported stolen from a vehicle in Limassol earlier the same day.

The 40-year-old was taken into custody and is expected to appear before Limassol District Court today for a remand order.

The case is being investigated by the Limassol Minor Offences Department.
