Low temperatures, rain and snow expected on Monday

Low temperatures, sporadic rainfall and the possibility of snowfall over mountainous areas will continue on Monday, mainly during the afternoon, according to the Department of Meteorology.

The weather on Sunday was partly cloudy and some snowfall occurred on the highest mountainous areas. According to measurements around noon on Sunday, the height of snow in Troodos Square was 13 cm.

The main roads leading to Troodos closed around Sunday noon, according to a police press release, both due to the snowfall and the traffic caused by Sunday visitors.

The weather on Monday morning is expected to be mostly sunny, but it will gradually turn cloudy in the afternoon, when localised rain and snow in the highest mountainous areas may occur.

The highest temperature in the interior and the northern coast will be around 15 degrees. The temperature in the rest of the coastal areas will be around 16 degrees and the temperature in the highest mountainous areas will be around 3 degrees.

Sporadic rainfall and/or storms are expected on Tuesday. Snowfall is expected in the highest mountainous areas. Similar weather with similar temperatures is expected until Thursday.
