Limassol: Woman trapped after crash, hospitalised with minor

A rescue operation was carried out following a road collision in Avdimou in the Limassol District yesterday morning.

According to the Cyprus Fire Service, a call for a life rescue incident was received at 07:29 following a traffic collision in the community.

A rescue team and vehicle from Monovolikos Fire Station responded to the scene.

Driver freed from vehicle

Authorities said the vehicle, under circumstances still under investigation, veered off course and crashed into a wall.

The female driver became trapped inside the vehicle and firefighters used rescue equipment to free her following coordinated efforts at the scene.

She was later handed over to ambulance crews and transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of Limassol General Hospital for treatment.

Minor passenger also taken to hospital

A minor passenger, who was not trapped inside the vehicle, was also transported by ambulance to hospital.

Firefighters additionally removed the vehicle’s battery terminals as part of safety procedures following the collision.
