Limassol: Police issue arrest warrant for attempted murder suspect

Police have issued an arrest warrant against a person suspected in connection with an attempted murder targeting a 36-year-old man in Limassol.

Mohamad Tleis, 30, from Lebanon, is being sought to assist with inquiries into the incident that occurred in Limassol.

Police statements on probe

Limassol Operations Director Leuteris Kyriakou stated that evidence links the suspect to the case. He noted that police investigations are intensifying to locate and arrest the suspect, along with others involved in the attempted murder case.

Anyone with information on Tleis’s whereabouts is asked to contact Limassol Traffic Police at 25-805057, the Citizen’s Line at 1460, or the nearest police station.

Victim attacked outside cafe

The victim came under attack on Saturday afternoon outside a cafe on Anexartisias Street.

Assailants initially used electric shock devices against him. One of three attackers then drew a knife and stabbed the 37-year-old in the chest.

Serious injuries and surgery

The victim was taken to a private hospital, where he underwent surgery, was intubated, and remains in serious condition.
