Limassol: Nursery negligence claim after child’s broken leg

Date:

A mother filed complaint with Limassol Police over potential negligence at private nursery after her 14-month-old child suffered leg fracture on Friday morning.

She dropped child normally but noticed unusual pain behaviour upon brief return. Nursery staff assured “child is fine, nothing concerning happened.”

Despite assurances, persistent complaints prompted mother to take child home then paediatrician.

Confirmed tibia fracture requiring surgery

Paediatrician diagnosed broken leg, ordered immediate A&E x-rays confirming tibia bone fracture. Doctor stated injury requires “strong, serious blow, usually from height fall.”

Child underwent two surgical operations. Mother reported to Limassol Police Directorate for negligence investigation.
