Limassol: Driver trapped after road accident – Vehicle falls into ditch

A road accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on the Akrounta–Dierona road, in the Limassol district, prompting a response from the Fire Service after a vehicle lost control and came to rest in a ditch.

Emergency response at 12:39

According to the Fire Service, authorities received the call at 12:39 and the Agios Nikolaos Fire Station responded with a vehicle and a rescue team.

The incident involved a driver who lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and end up on its side inside a roadside ditch.

Rescue operation at the scene

Firefighters carried out a rescue operation and safely extricated the driver from the vehicle using rescue equipment.

The driver was then transported by a relative to Limassol General Hospital for medical examinations.

The road accident caused a brief mobilisation of emergency services, with responders securing the scene and assisting the injured driver.

Investigation underway

Authorities are investigating the causes of the road accident.

No further details regarding the driver’s condition have been released at this stage.
