Limassol: 18-year-old abducted over financial dispute, two arrested

Police have arrested two men, aged 23 and 24, as part of an investigation into a case involving, among other offences, conspiracy to commit a felony, abduction, extortion and money laundering.

According to information under investigation, at around 8pm on Monday, the 18-year-old was at a park in an area of Limassol when he was approached by the two suspects.

The suspects allegedly forced him to get into their car and then drove him to another road. According to the complainant, he was threatened over financial disputes between them.

Police locate vehicle and suspects

After receiving information about the incident, police officers located the vehicle in an area of Limassol, along with the persons involved.

Both suspects and the complainant were taken to the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) offices for questioning.

As part of the investigation, arrest warrants were obtained for the two suspects. They were subsequently arrested and detained to facilitate the investigation.

Suspects due in court

The two arrested men are expected to appear before the Limassol District Court on Tuesday morning for proceedings concerning their remand.

The Limassol CID, in cooperation with the Limassol Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU), are continuing investigations into the case.
