A new digital platform, Let’s Culture, has been launched to promote and centralise information on cultural events in Cyprus, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Vasiliki Kassianidou, announced during a press conference on Monday.
Operational since mid-August, the platform provides a unified space for showcasing cultural activities happening across the island. Kassianidou emphasised that it does not solely feature events organised or funded by the Deputy Ministry of Culture, but is open to all organisers, regardless of affiliation.
“Let’s Culture is aimed at artists and cultural creators, local authorities, academic and research institutions, non-profit organisations, and anyone else wishing to promote their cultural activities,” she said.
Categories and features
All events submitted must fall under categories such as theatre, film, dance, visual arts, music, literature, folk culture, archaeology and history, cultural heritage, handicrafts, and home crafts. Lectures, conferences, workshops, guided tours, and seminars related to these areas are also eligible for listing.
Kassianidou described the initiative as both a promotional tool for Cyprus’ cultural product and a mechanism to strengthen the work of artists and cultural organisations.
“We aim to develop audiences, support creators, and promote contemporary cultural production,” she noted, adding that the platform serves as a bridge between artists and the public.
Public demand and platform access
The platform was developed in direct response to public feedback gathered through the Atlas Research Programme by the Department of Contemporary Culture. According to Kassianidou, many people reported difficulty in finding up-to-date, consolidated information about cultural events.
“A significant number of respondents requested a unified calendar with instant access to event information. We heard you and built exactly what you asked for.”
Let’s Culture offers five core services: user registration, event submission, an event calendar, personalised content options, and a search tool. Two training sessions for cultural stakeholders are scheduled for 8 and 15 September, aiming to support the artistic community in navigating the platform effectively.
The Deputy Minister clarified that the platform is self-managed by registered organisers and that the Ministry is not responsible for the content or execution of listed events. However, it reserves the right to reject listings that lack cultural relevance, contain inaccurate details, or serve purely commercial or promotional purposes.
Let’s Culture is currently available in Greek and will be launched in English within a month. The platform can be accessed at: https://www.letsculture.cy/
