Larnaca police seize explosives from 19-year-old’s home

Police in Larnaca have seized a large quantity of explosive materials, including firecrackers and naval flares, following a raid on a 19-year-old’s residence.

According to authorities, officers of the Cyprus Anti-Narcotics Unit (YKAN) carried out a search at the young man’s home yesterday, where they discovered and confiscated:

  • 173 firecrackers
  • 13 naval flares
  • 6 fireworks
  • 11 hunting cartridges

The 19-year-old was arrested on the spot for the offence of illegal possession of explosives and has been placed in custody to assist investigations.

The case is being investigated by Kiti Police Station.
