Police probe alleged abduction

Police in Larnaca are investigating a kidnapping case involving the possible abduction of a 22-year-old man.

As part of the investigation, officers from the Larnaca CID have issued an arrest warrant for a 20-year-old suspect.

Authorities are searching for Ashish Malik, 20, from India, in connection with offences of abduction and common assault allegedly committed between 28 and 29 April 2026 in the Larnaca district.

Police have not located the suspect, who remains wanted.

Witness report and police findings

Shortly before midnight on 28 April, a Larnaca resident reported a possible abduction after seeing several individuals force an unknown person into a vehicle.

Officers who responded to the scene gathered evidence indicating that a group had earlier entered a nearby apartment and attacked its occupants.

Investigators also established that a 22-year-old resident of the apartment remains missing, intensifying concerns in the kidnapping case.

Public appeal for information

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in locating the suspect to contact the Larnaca CID on 24-804060, the Citizen Line on 1460, or the nearest police station.

Authorities continue investigations into the kidnapping case as efforts to locate the missing individual and the suspect remain ongoing.
